Who this policy covers
This policy describes Cloudmoji for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch (“the native app”), as well as the separate Cloudmoji website. Kevin Chan is responsible for Cloudmoji. Questions can be sent to kevin.chan@sproutlearn.co .
Native app: Data Not Collected
The native app does not collect or send personal data to Cloudmoji. It has no accounts, advertising, third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, crash-reporting service, or Cloudmoji server. Its App Store privacy answer is “Data Not Collected.”
Information stored by the native app
iOS stores small app settings such as the selected language, enabled languages and categories, Count range, sound choice, and whether the welcome tour was dismissed. The Apple Watch stores the last language received from the paired phone. Cloudmoji does not transmit these settings to us. Depending on the family’s Apple backup settings, iOS or watchOS may include app settings in an encrypted device or iCloud backup.
The iPhone or iPad also stores one protected play-session record with a random installation identifier, revision, start and deadline, source, and lock state. This lets the paid timer survive relaunch and keeps Cloudmoji locked after time expires. The record is excluded from backup, is deleted with the app, and is not transmitted to Cloudmoji.
A child’s photos are stored inside Cloudmoji’s protected app container. Cloudmoji marks both the photo folder and its files to be excluded from iCloud backup. Photos are not added to Apple Photos automatically. A grown-up may save copies to Apple Photos or delete the originals from the grown-ups area.
Camera, Photos, microphone, and speech
- The first camera permission prompt is shown only after a grown-up completes Cloudmoji’s parental gate. The camera runs only while its camera screen is open and is used for still photos without audio.
- Add-only Apple Photos permission is requested only when a grown-up chooses to save a copy. Cloudmoji does not read the photo library.
- The iPhone and iPad app does not request microphone permission. The paid Apple Watch app may record a short voice message after the grown-up starts recording.
- Spoken words use Apple’s text-to-speech service. Cloudmoji does not record the child’s voice.
Apple Watch messages
Emoji, short voice messages, and play-session commands use Apple’s WatchConnectivity service between the paired Apple Watch and iPhone. The watch can request a timer or an immediate Cloudmoji app lock; the phone applies the command and returns the authoritative state. Cloudmoji has no server for these messages and does not receive them. A voice message is held in the phone’s memory for replay during that app session and is not saved to the phone’s recordings or photo library.
Purchases
Full Cloudmoji is an optional one-time In-App Purchase. Apple’s StoreKit loads the price, processes or restores the purchase, and provides the current entitlement. Apple handles the Apple Account and payment information under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Cloudmoji does not receive payment-card details.
Support email
The support button opens the grown-up’s mail app with an address and subject. Cloudmoji does not attach diagnostics, settings, photos, or voice messages. If a grown-up sends email, we receive their email address and whatever they choose to write. Please do not include a child’s name, photos, recordings, or other personal information. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to answer and maintain a reasonable support record. A deletion request may be sent to the contact address above.
Children
The native app is designed for children, but it does not ask a child for a name, age, email address, location, or account. Purchases, outbound links, support, settings, permissions, and photo management are reserved for a designated grown-ups area behind a parental gate.
Deleting native-app information
A grown-up can delete Cloudmoji photos individually or all at once in the grown-ups area. Deleting the app removes its local settings and any remaining photos from the device. Apple manages purchase records and backups under the family’s Apple Account settings and policies.
Separate Cloudmoji website
The website at cloudmoji.app is separate from the native app. It keeps language choices and usage statistics in the browser’s localStorage. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics for pageview and basic device, browser, referrer, and approximate-region information; Vercel Speed Insights for performance measurements; and Google Fonts, which causes the browser to request font files from Google. These services are not included in the iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch app. The privacy and support pages are static documents and do not load those analytics or font scripts themselves.
Changes
We will update this page if Cloudmoji’s data practices change and will revise the date above. Material changes affecting the native app will also be reflected in its App Store privacy information.
